I found the slide photo above (taken by my father) during a recent visit with my parents. I asked my mom about it.

Photos die, unless we talk about them. Hello. My name is Todd Wemmer. Photosdie.com features audio interviews and field recordings related to photography. I use the term "related" loosely. I might say that everything is about photography. Or photography is about everything. I might also say that this site is really more about the talk that surrounds photography. Or the sounds that surround photography. So I am interested in the talk that surrounds the photograph more than the actual photograph itself. Or something like that. Half journalistic / half qualitative ~~research~~. I use the H2 Zoom, iPod Belkin mic & iPod, and cell phone for recording. I used to use a Sharp minidisc (R.I.P).

I use music from MagnaTunes.com. Great site. Great music. Most of the songs I've used recently come from Joram. You can find him on Magnatunes.com.

McKay's Bookstore: Chattanooga

Last summer I made several recordings in photography galleries. Click on museums and you can hear them. You will put them on your iPod. I also recording the photography section at the Strand Bookstore. I recorded in the photography section of McKay's Used Books in Chattanooga. I purchased Readymades published by Chronicle. . . and Meatyard's Aperture book. Actually, I traded in some old stuff and used the credit to get these books and other books about sharks and spiders for kids. I haven't posted the Strand recording. I think I will go look for it...until I do, here is McKays.

Photographer: James Christianson

This is a short one. James Christianson is a friend of mine. We used to teach at the same high school. Jim asked me to come along and assist in photographing a wedding in Montana. I took that photo of him above off the side of a road in Bozeman In this short interview, he talks about the light (in the photos below) that appeared after a rain storm. Oh yea, and that rainbow. Montana

I'm going to Montana tomorrow to assist my good friend Jim with photographing a wedding. Remind me to put the Bruce Weber quote about weddings. I'm also going to interview Jim with my audio recorder. I have some audio I need to edit of Jim and I in New York photographing a wedding. We were trying to get into that military school. I can't remember the name of it right now. We kept running into guards. I have audio of that. Jim, that was 3 years ago. Now I'm in Montana. Photos from new iphone. I can post on Typepad using iphone.
