Mim finds a photo of her father

Mim (my wife's grandmother) told me this story before I ever started officially collecting stories about lost-and-found photographs. I recorded the story. I recorded many of her stories. Listen to her tell me about finding a photograph in her childhood home.

Where will your photos go when you die?

I asked my friend Les this question years ago.  I recorded it with a little digital camera. I don't know why it's up in the corner of the screen.  The use of easy to use (available) recording devices (instead of expensive high quality instruments) has become an important method of how I like to record things.

Photographing my grandmother

I recently found this little clip of me taking photos of my grandmother. This is probably from 1998ish. Was using light meter and Mamiya.  One of the resulting photographs above in frame.  I'm also trying this Vimeo out.

Magic Photos

Personal photographs are written about as if they are magical (over and over again).  And then critics come along and point out the magic discourse.  What if personal photographs really were magical?  Like the only magical thing in the world.
